I started making knives in high school with a buddy of mine whose dad let us mess with his forge. In college, I bought my own equipment and took a summer and tried to be self employed making knives. (It was a very fun summer but not very profitable.) Once I started going to friends’ weddings, I made it a tradition to give them a knife, and that has kept me at it ever since. I’ve probably made over 50 knives and don’t have pictures of them all.

An old guy from my church had me make a knife out of a buffalo bone. This was one of my first commissions back when I was still in college.

Eventually I wanted a gas forge, and made my own from an old helium tank.

The truck I use for street evangelization started out as my traveling blacksmith shop. I still use it for that purpose from time to time.
